It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like... - September 09, 2010 07:52

Okay, it's not beginning to look a lot like Christmas. And I'm one of those people that insists that the holiday season DOES NOT begin until after Thanksgiving. But now that I am someone that sells things that people might want to buy and give as a present for their winter holiday of choice, I have to plan in advance and start making the holiday stuff early and start thinking about applying for shows. In fact, I started applying for holiday shows in July. July! Goodness. The upside of applying for shows so early is that I now know my status in two of them!

Dear Sewing Machine, - May 20, 2010 03:36

I know I've ignored you a little the last few months, my trusty friend.
It started off with the overwhelming sleepiness and nausea that came with the first trimester of pregnancy, then continued with an onslaught of hormone-induced headaches. You sat there on your table, staring at me, reminding me of all the things I needed to work on, all the ideas I had, and making me feel guilty about all the things I was putting off in the hopes that tomorrow I'd feel a little better. I know you didn't mean to make me feel bad, but I did. And you got kind

Upcoming Shows! - May 20, 2010 03:11

We're pleased to announce a couple upcoming shows this spring! The first is Unique Los Angeles, the largest independent design show in the country (!!), which is April 24th and 25th at the California Market Center's penthouse. We took part in Unique L.A.'s holiday show in December and had a great time, so we're pleased to be back for the spring show.
The second show is Bazaar Bizarre at the Maker Faire in San Mateo, May 22nd and 23rd. Last year's Bazaar Bizarre at the Maker Faire was our very first show. The crowds were amazing and overwhelming

Bazaar Bizarre wrap up - May 27, 2010 22:10
- By: NoisyPenguin
We got back from Bazaar Bizarre at the Maker Faire very, very late on Sunday night, but I'd like to report that we had a fantastic time and sold lots. (We're almost out of oven mitts again! I'll get to work on replenishing the stock for the website soon.) And a woman that bought some oven mitts last year came back and bought two more - then she said that they were the best oven mitts she'd ever had in her life so she had to buy more to give to friends! That made my weekend, let me tell you.
Last year's Maker Faire was our very first craft fair and we were a little overwhelmed and didn't get a chance to look around much, but now that we're a little more comfortable with doing shows,

Bazaar Bizarre SF, Holiday 2009 - May 20, 2010 01:54

*originally posted December 2009*
We remembered to take pictures this week! We had an awesome booth near the entrance, behind the fabulous Jaime Zollars, and across from Craft Magazine. Seriously, it doesn't get any better than that. The booth size was a little smaller than the booth at Unique LA, so we had to get a little creative with the rack for the tote bags, but I kind of like how we did this better - it was a lot easier for people to browse the bags, and we sold more of them. Win win!
Here is a picture of our entire space, sort of. It was hard to get a shot of everything, so I drew on this picture to give you a better idea of the layout.
