baby knitting - July 01, 2010 14:56

Did you know how quickly baby things knit up? Why did no one tell me this when I thought I was too busy to knit Mr. Poop some baby things a few years ago? I started this baby hat last night and I'm about halfway done with only a couple hours of lazy knitting. I think baby hats are as close to instant gratification as you can get with knitting.
I've reached the stage in pregnancy where you stop sleeping well. Mr. Poop has reached the stage in toddlerhood where he likes to push buttons and run run run and crumble to the floor in an over-dramatic heap of sobs when he doesn't get his own way (yesterday I had the gall to not serve him ice cream for lunch), and combining that with the lack of sleep and my day job has left me a little brain dead. So nice, relaxing, cute hats are seeming like the way to go.
I used to work for a book distributor and picked up a lot of knitting sample books. I have a feeling I will be going through them all in weeks before I give birth so I can make lots of hats for future baby and Mr. Poop. (I still feel bad for not spending time making things for him when he was a baby, so I have to make up for it now.) So anyway. Don't be surprised if you see a lot of pictures of hats here in the next 5.5 weeks.
